Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your local community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or ‘ward’), supported by additional officers from the wider area. Each team consists of at least one Police Constable (PC) and one Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents (including attending Ward Panels) to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Ward panel meetings typically look like: small, resident‐focused gatherings where police, Councillors,
and community members sit together to discuss neighborhood priorities, crime trends, and safety
concerns. They reflect the very practical, ground‐level nature of community engagement
What ward panel meetings usually involve

• Local residents and police in the same room — often around a single table or in a small hall, creating a collaborative rather than formal           atmosphere.
• Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) presenting updates on crime patterns, recent incidents, and ongoing operations.
• Residents raising concerns about issues like antisocial behaviour, theft, youth safety, or environmental problems.
• Setting local policing priorities — panels help decide what the police should focus on for the next quarter.
• Councillors and community groups often attend to coordinate responses beyond policing.
